John Wilson died on Monday, February 7th, 2011, while riding his bicycle in his hometown of Jupiter, Florida. John was a driver engineer with Boca Raton Fire Rescue and had just completed 15 years of service with the City before his passing. John graduated from Johnson and Wales University with a degree in Culinary Arts and was a professional chef before and during his career as a firefighter. He is survived by his wife Mary and his three children John, Peter, and Charlie.
The John Wilson Memorial Scholarship was created to honor the name of our fallen brother. Johnwas both a great Firefighter and a Master Chef. We are promoting his two loves by funding a scholarship to aspiring students that will provide tuition through Fire Academy training, Paramedic school, EMT school, and a cooking course for the recipient. A great friend to anyone who ever met him or sat at his table. John is truly missed by all, but never forgotten.
